The decision was made due to the successful control of COVID-19 in China and the increasing demand from international businesses to participate in the event on-site. The 5th CIIE, which was held both offline and online, had attracted over 400,000 visitors and signed deals exceeding $72 billion.

The decision to return to an offline event means that businesses can once again showcase their products and services physically and connect with potential partners and customers face-to-face. It also means that visitors from all over the world can experience the charm of Shanghai and China in person, which is an irreplaceable experience that cannot be replicated online.

The news has received a positive response from international businesses and attendees, who eagerly await the return of the physical event. The CIIE has become an important platform for global trade and cooperation and has played a significant role in promoting economic globalization and free trade.

The 6th China International Import Expo will be held in November 2023 in Shanghai, and it is expected to be an even bigger success than the previous events. The China International Import Expo Bureau has expressed its commitment to continuing to provide an open and inclusive platform for international businesses to showcase their products and services and promote trade cooperation and cultural exchanges.
